I like you like that

"You're Dad's not sick, is he?" Dayton asked while he was pulling out a bag of microwave popcorn from the oven for Hillary. He poured the hot substance into a bowl then.

"I don't think so," she looked at him. "Why?"

"Just wondered." He knew he shouldn't have asked. Why would she know? Dayton felt sure he was keeping it from her.

"Do you know something I don't know?" Hillary winced.

"No." Dayton was sorry he brought it up. He needed to change the subject. "Do you think I'm good at anything."

"Yeah." She just said popping some popcorn in her mouth.

"Like what?" He needed to know. Somebody needed to tell him.

"You're cute." She grinned.

"Yeah, well, that's not really being good at anything, you know." He shrugged putting the bowl on the kitchen table then.

"Maybe you could be an actor on that new 90210 show." She smirked.

"Yeah, I'll do that," He faked a smile. "No. That's not what I mean." He shook his head.

"Have you thought about acting classes?" She told him.

"I'm not really good at memorizing stuff, you know." Acting was definitely out. Really, there was no future in that sort of thing, but here he was at some-body's house who owned his own theater.

"Do you like animals?"

"I dunno." He hadn't thought about it. There was Geoff and his hens and other farm animals, but he didn't really help with them that much.

"Didn't you use to work on cars?"

"Yeah, but I was never as good as my friend. He's like a god with an engine." Dayton sighed, giving up.

"Maybe you're good with people," Hillary then said before she clicked into one of the places she liked to go on her laptop.

"Believe me, I'm a walking disaster when it comes to people." Dayton squinted.

"But I like you," she told him. "You're funny."

"A regular comedian, huh?" He wished someone could shed some insight.

"No," she grinned. "Not like that. You're a lot better person than you think you are. I don't know who told you, you weren't good at anything, but you are. You, are good at being you."

"Thanks," he wasn't so sure how helpful that was, but Hillary at least had a way of making him feel better about himself.

Well, I have to say, I've heard quite a bit about Celeste . . . I think I got the idea for her looks from Alicia Way. I'm still not sure how she sees Christopher exactly . . . and Stefan-Chlaire is probably too smug to want to help out. LOL.

That would be interesting, you taking them all out for a spin. Fun.
