Bex backed Oliver in a corner as soon as she found out about the circulation position.

"Oliver Mulberry, you are taking this job." She was afraid if she poked him in the chest with her sharp index finger he might completely faint.

"All right, I know. I know." He did look sleepy. She hoped he'd sleep tonight. Neither had actually slept last night. She kept waking up wondering if he was still breathing, and he had a way of keeping his eyes half closed. Not completely.

"Do it." She ordered. "You'll get all the benefits you need to be on your own and everything." Granted it wasn't the most spectacular job in the world, but it was a start. Full-time.

"You mean, as in starting a family, that kind of thing?" He looked nervous just talking about it.

"Yes." He'd caught her. She guessed. "No. No, this is for you. You need this."

"All right." He wasn't going to fight her on this. "I'll do it. I'll go down to City on my break."

"I'll drive you." She hugged herself.

"Should you be doing that?"

"Why not?"

"Maybe its you who want this job." He stared at her then.

"I do not! If anyone should have it, it should be you...because..."

"Look, this is something I have to do on my own. And if they let me have it."

"If?" She looked at him as if he was crazy now.

"Yeah, if."

"You'll get it," she told him.

"I'm only doing it for you, you know that, don't you," he told her.

She smiled then so wanting to kiss him, but that would be wrong to kiss him here. She guessed she'd have to wait.
