God, she was so hungry. Bex swore her mouth was still hot. She couldn't believe what she was about to do... what she almost did to Oliver. It was crazy. Flat out crazy, she thought standing there in her empty kitchen finding the only container in the fridge, cold spaghetti in tomato sauce.
Dayton was on his game and didn't even notice she'd come home. That was about par for the course.
What had she been thinking? Almost going down on Oliver in her car. God, it was such a chore even thinking about such a matter with Dayton. It was like pulling teeth, but she always obliged him. At least once a week. Sunday morning. Sometimes, she'd fake sleep to get out of it, but it never worked. Then he'd get frustrated if it didn't go as well as he wanted. He swore she gave him sores.
She pushed the cold spaghetti in her mouth and let it sit there for a bit, thinking how it could have been tonight. Shit. She spit the spaghetti back in the container.
"What the hell are you doing?" Dayton jerked the container from her. "I made that. I have you know. You never make anything!" He snapped.
She stared at the inside of the empty fridge and licked the tomato sauce from her lips.
"Well, if you could buy some real groceries that would last the whole week instead of your hotpockets and tater tots."
"You know you love the tater-tots," he said fondly eating up what was left of the spaghetti, including what she spit out.
"Fine, I'll have peanut butter and crackers."
"I finished that earlier."
"What!" Really, this was starting to hit a nerve. All this extra crap to worry about. Bills. Now classes.
"Holy shit, have some ramen top noodles!" He shook the package in her face.
"I had that for breakfast." She hugged herself.
"So." He slid the last of the spaghetti in his mouth and dropped the container in the sink. "I'm going to Chris'. I left something there." He wiped the back of his hand across his mouth.
"You know, you don't fuck'n care."
"Will you be back?" She looked up at him.
"Maybe. You don't have to wait up for me." It was after ten p.m. already.
"OK." She wouldn't. But he'd still want sex even if she was dead asleep. He was like that.
Dayton left then. She got a glass of tap water and sipped it, quietly. He'd told her she was fat just yesterday. She wasn't hungry, anyway.
