better safe than sorry

Nancy didn't want to start anything with Dayton, but she knew something was different.

"He's not telling you everything," Nancy said to Geoff. They were alone. She couldn't possibly stay in the same room with Dayton even though she was trying.

"What do you mean?"

"I dunno. Just a gut feeling. He won't tell you. I know he won't because that's the way he works. I'm not trying to say that, like I hate him or anything. Its just he can't express himself in certain situations. I suppose. What I'm trying to say, he was probably with someone. I'm not saying he's in love with someone else or anything. I kind of think he'd just do it because he hates himself so much." Nancy told him.

"Wow," Geoff smiled. "I didn't think you'd have so much to say. Sounds like you might be writing a thesis on him."

"Just be prepared. All right. Tell him he needs to get an HIV test." She glared at Geoff then.

"Seriously?" Geoff glared back.

"Yeah, I'm serious. Maybe it'll scare him if anything else. And that way you'll feel safe with him." She nodded.

Geoff nodded. She could tell it left a bad feeling with him, though. She didn't mean for it to be like that, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Nancy does have a point there. I think she might be looking out for both of them.

I do wonder how Nancy feels about Geoff. Is it friendship or does she feel something more. I think she cares about Geoff, but then she might actually care about Dayton too.

Yeah, this is something Geoff needs to confront him with.
