on a partly cloudy day

It didn't help that Oliver had to take his sister's call. At least it was nothing. She'd had a good time with Nelson. He'd almost forgot about that.

"Really?" Oliver could at least breathe easy. Except, Izzy actually believed Nelson was a woman. "And you're going out tonight? Again? Well, good for you. Be careful now." His busted eye twitched a little. He slid off the shades so he could take a good look at Bex, still at the park, still on the comforter. Wine glasses empty. Her hat that he wore now on the grass.

He took a black berry, fed her one too. There was a hint of fall in the air. It gave him the courage to move in for a kiss and in a moment it was as if they were meant to be laying here all along, looking at the blue sky.

"Do you think it'll pass?" He asked, squinting at a small cloud slowly sliding by the sun.

"What?" Bex remained even lipped as he turned on his side and watched her.

"Us."

"No." But it didn't sound like a promise.

"I don't want to go back to the way it was." Oliver told her.

"Its not a good idea, you know, being a couple at work. Especially now."

"That doesn't bother me much. Besides, they'll probably fire me, anyway." He shrugged.

"Don't talk like that," Bex winced. "You don't know that."

He breathed in her mouth then and his fingers slid under her blouse. It was easy to sense that she wanted him too. Her nipples so tight. He couldn't help but smile.

But then again, Oliver wanted to be more than something on the side.
